Arizona Courts

Arizona offers you three options when filing a civil complaint against another party.  You may file in Small Claims Court, Justice Court, or Superior Court.  Each court is a little different than the other.  Primarily the differences are based upon the amount of money you are seeking to recover.  However, there are only certain types of claims permitted in each court, and Small Claims Court does not permit attorneys to be present unless all the parties agree.  Be sure you know which court will best suit your case.

All three of the Arizona civil court deal only with civil matter.  A civil complaint is basically a claim that is not of a criminal nature.  Typically a civil complaint seeks to make the other party pay you for injuries, harms, and losses they may have caused.

What a lot of people do not realize is there are filing fees involved for answering a complaint.  Be sure to have the appropriate amount on hand when you go to the court house to file anything.

To help you understand the rules followed by each court, the links on this page will give you more detailed information about each respective court.  The courts in Arizona differ a little from county to county, but basically each court requires the same things.  The links below contain a detailed explanation about each court and provide links to every county court Web site in the State of Arizona.
