Barry Lewin has been a trial lawyer for nearly 30 years. He started trying cases in 1980 and completed his most recent trial in September 2008. Along the way he has represented clients in both the Arizona Court of Appeals and the Arizona Supreme Court. Barry focuses his practice on clients who have been seriously injured in personal injury, prescription error, and medical malpractice claims. The testimonies of former clients and colleagues attest to his compassion and success over the years.

After finishing law school at the University of Arizona, Barry accepted a clerkship with the Arizona Court of Appeals. There he had the opportunity to work with and learn from some of Arizona's brightest legal minds, including Sandra Day O'Connor. What he learned at the Court of Appeals has influenced the rest of his career.

The first 20 years of his career were spent with one of the largest defense firms in Phoenix. He later started his own practice, growing in numbers to 30 plus attorneys and support staff. Working in large firms meant less personal attention to the client and more focus on the bottom line. So five years ago he left his own firm to start a small practice where he could focus on his clients and their needs.

Over the course of his career Barry has worked as both a defense and plaintiff's attorney. Today Barry focuses entirely on clients who have been seriously injured, and those experiences as a defense attorney greatly benefit his clients. Having worked both sides of the aisle, Barry is able to provide a unique perspective and understanding that many attorneys lack.

After being a trial lawyer for nearly 30 years, Barry knows what it takes to get the best results for his clients. He is not afraid to go to court if he is unable to obtain what a client feels is fair and just compensation by settlement. Opponents know he will go to trial to obtain fair compensation for his clients. They know he will fight for his clients with intensity, commitment and passion.

In addition to being an advocate, Barry has implemented a client-centered practice. Nothing makes him happier then to help his clients heal, not just financially, but physically and emotionally too. He knows and understands the stress, anxiety, anger, and depression clients often experience as a result of filing a law suit. Barry often takes calls from current and former clients who are having a rough day and just need someone to talk to.

Barry has received an A/V rating from Martindale-Hubbell. This rating represents the highest rating for both legal skill and ethical behavior an attorney can receive. Barry's success representing his clients has also earned him a membership in the Million Dollar Advocate Forum, an honor only given after obtaining one million dollars or more for a client.

In his legal career Barry has served as a Judge Pro Tempore for the Judges of Maricopa County Superior Court. He has also been selected to teach trial practice, evidence, and legal medicine at various professional meetings. He has given presentations, demonstrations, and lectures, to groups including, high school students, law school students, and practicing attorneys. He was asked as a member of the faculty at the State Bar Trial College several times.

On a personal note, Barry is also an avid baseball and sports card collector. He and his son co-founded Grand Canyon Cards, a card shop business they jointly own and operate. When he is not preparing for trial you can often find Barry and his son at one of the various card shows around Phoenix.

As a client of the Law Office of Barry E. Lewin you can be certain he will do his best to achieve a result you are satisfied with.
